Poll: Will the scandals put voters off Zack Polanski and the Greens? | Politics | News

Green Party leader Zack Polanski has faced a series of scandals in recent weeks as his party surges in the poll.

The hard-Left leader, whose party sit on 15% according to the latest YouGov poll, defended his party amid claims of anti-Semitism, their open borders policies and fresh fury over claims he was a spokesman for the Red Cross.

The Green Party leader made the false claim as he campaigned to become the partyโ€™s deputy leader back in 2022.

Asked about the claim by BBC Radio 4โ€™s Today Programme on Wednesday, Mr Polanski said: โ€œI hosted various fundraisers for the British Red Cross, and indeed I would go on stage and speak for them about the amazing work they do tackling humanitarian crises, on the climate crisis, and indeed, for refugees all around the world.

Elsewhere, he insisted his party was taking action to tackle antisemitism.

Confronted with a series of comments made by his candidates, the Green leader told BBC Radio 4โ€™s Today programme: โ€œThose messages are all unacceptable, and itโ€™s important to condemn that.

โ€œThe Green Party are an anti-racist party and itโ€™s important that we stick to our values.โ€

But will the scandals put voters off the Greens?
