Wimbledon 2025 live: Tennis scores and results as reigning champion Barbora Krejcikova in trouble and Dan Evans v Jay Clarke
Day two of Wimbledon 2025 has arrived, as Jack Draper looks to build on the stark success of British players from Monday โ though Heather Watson has become an early casualty for the home prospects.
A record seven Britons advanced on Monday, including Emma Raducanu, but Watson was ousted in three sets on Tuesday, as Denmark’s Clara Tauson progressed at her expense. There was a more dramatic exit in the womenโs draw, however, when third seed Jessica Pegula was dumped out in straight sets by Elisabetta Cocciaretto in the morning.
Players are battling not just each other but also the heat in SW19, as temperatures threaten to reach 35C in London today, so look for that to potentially affect play.
Among those hoping for safe passage to round two are: Draper, who takes on smooth-moving Sebastian Baez; top menโs seed Jannik Sinner, who plays fellow Italian Luca Nardi; and seven-time champion Novak Djokovic, who goes up against Alexandre Muller.
Defending womenโs champion Barbora Krejcikova has overcome an injury scare and will be first out on Centre Court, but there will be plenty of attention on her opponent, with Alexandra Eala โ the first player from the Philippines to play in the main singles draw at Wimbledon โ proving her high potential in recent months after coming through the Rafa Nadal Academy and reaching the Eastbourne final. Also, French Open winner Coco Gauff takes on Dayana Yastremska.

Krejcikova secures vital break in decider with Eala
*Krejcikova 3-6, 6-2, 2-0 Eala
Krejcikova is on the board first at 0-15, before the players trade errant forehands. 15-40.
Another error by Eala, who canโt beat the net, and Krejcikova has two break points…
One goes begging! The defending champ frames a forehand. 30-40.
But a poor volley by Eala sails wide, and Krejcikova finds a crucial break!

Krejcikova starts well in third set
Krejcikova 3-6, 6-2, 1-0 Eala*
Krejcikova kickstarts the deciding set with a hold of serve, but to 30, after some resistance from Eala.
Thereโs still a lot of tension around Centre Court. Wimbledon crowds always get behind an underdog.

Krejcikova breaks to seal set
*Krejcikova 3-6, 6-2 Eala
After a bit of a wobble Krejcikova has the chance to break Eala to seal this second set. The 20-year-old has a lot more self-belief now and is serving much better, and saves two set points with another lovely drop shot and an ace.
But eventually the defending champion breaks her resistance; Eala hits wide on set point, and weโre heading to a decider on Centre Court!

Krejcikova 3-6, 5-2 Eala*
Alexandra Eala indicates she isnโt going anywhere… the 20-year-old swings freely and mixes up her game with a couple of delightful drop shots, but itโs a sizzling cross-court winner that seals the break!
Sheโll now serve to stay in this set.

Jannik Sinner, after his first round win:
โI was very happy to come back and play in this special place, to play an Italian is unfortunate. The atmosphere is amazing actually, thank you for coming out.
โIt’s very hot and humid, I don’t remember the last time I was in London having this weather!
โI was serving really well, there were not so many rallies in the beginning but I was very happy with how I ended the match.
โI try to keep going and enjoy playing here. If you canโt enjoy playing on this court, I donโt know where you can enjoy.โ

Jannik Sinner through to round two
GAME, SET AND MATCH! Sinner 6-4 6-3 6-0 Nardi
A very handy afternoonโs work from Jannik Sinner!
He beats his Italian compatriot Luca Nardi in straight-sets, progressing after one hour and 48 minutes.
The world No 1 will face Australian world No 93 Aleksandar Vukic in round two on Thursday.

Krejcikova serves for second set
*Krejcikova 3-6, 5-1 Eala
Warm applause greets Alexandra Eala as she gets on the board for the first time in this set, but itโs been one-way traffic so far.
The defending champ will serve to take this to a decider.

Sinner one game away from victory
*Sinner 6-4 6-3 5-0 Nardi
Sinner breaks for the third time and is on the cusp of a bagel in this third set.

Krejcikova leads by double break in second set
*Krejcikova 3-6, 4-0 Eala
This second set has quite a different feel to the first, with Eala looking a tad deflated out on court. Krejcikova has another chance to break before the 20-year-old fights back with a pair of great winners, redirecting the defending champion around the court.
But after a scrappy game Krejcikova seals the double break with a forehand that just kisses the sideline.
